Overbooks Raw Chicken Incident

On July 3rd, 2024, overbooks discovered that upon using a Totem of Undying to prevent his death, he would inexplicably drop many stacks of raw chicken. This glitch was reproducible for the entire day under specific circumstances.

Background

overbooks, ROWNIE, and Mars were in London on July 3rd, and were speculating ways that they could travel to Iceveil (overbooks' kingdom) without teleporting. overbooks wanted to transport horses from London to Iceveil, but the distance between the two locations in the Overworld is over 100,000 blocks. overbooks brought up the idea of traveling by the Nether roof, which would divide the distance by 8. Mars had a home set on the roof of the nether, and requested overbooks to teleport to him at that location.

When the two arrived at Mars' home on the Nether roof, they realized that they were almost at the build height limit. Mars' home took them to a Ghast farm that he created to send Ghasts into the Overworld. The two were standing on a small platform with nothing visible in render distance. Mars attempted to warn overbooks to be cautious, but overbooks had already slipped off the platform and accelerated downwards towards the Nether roof.

Incident

overbooks landed on top of the Ghast farm's main chamber, which was only a couple of blocks above the Nether roof. The fall damage would have killed him, but he evaded death by using the Totem of Undying in his offhand. Nevertheless, overbooks complained in a voice call that his game was frozen. Mars and ROWNIE were still on the platform at the build height limit, thinking of ways to reach the bottom without dying. After his game unfroze, overbooks requested Mars to teleport to him. When Mars arrived, his game immediately began to lag.

The incident from overbooks' perspective

The three players were quickly distracted from their goal of traveling to Iceveil by this unusual phenomenon. This glitch happened just a few hours after the Bogged Incident, which involved the same three players. After the first mass chicken drop, the players conducted some experiments to determine how powerful this glitch was.

They had determined that this glitch only affected overbooks, and it only resulted in him dropping raw chicken under the variables that they tested. Most of the raw chicken despawned, but a fraction was collected using hoppers and chests. The collected chicken was transported to Iceveil for cooking and long-term storage. As of April 7th, 2025, overbooks still has some chicken left from this incident.
