Oh, Flo, where did you go?

Brief

Flo first joined Gangcraft in [startDate] and played on the account polarparadise. For the most part he was a casual player, but did take part in a few notable events such as the Stereo Temple Incident and surviving the World Height MLG Massacre. Flo has various builds both above and below ground in the over world and underworld, with the most impressive of the bunch being the Dark Tower. Flo was an active player until [endDate] but stopped playing after switching to Linux and the Microsoft barrier of entry became too high.

Etymology

Despite the name "Flo" being more commonly used to name females, Flo is a male. FishHooks, who was a friend of Flo, came up with the name "Florida Fung" on December 19th, 2019. He combined the Florida Man meme and the fact Flo was known for playing a mushroom race in the game Rogue Lineage where he did many risky stunts.[1] The nickname "Flo" came as a shorthand from the first three letters of full name.

Builds

Dark Tower

While wandering around, Flo came across a flat section of mushroom bioem and decided it would be a good location to base. Rather than spending a long time gathering a bunch of materials and placing them, he decided it would be more efficient to create a giant lava cast and carve a base out of the natural path it took. The result was a sky high tower that had a spiraling staircase that curved around the tower and led directly to the top. At the top was Flo's Lair [number of blocks] above ground where he kept his belongings.

After the many deaths from the Stereo Temple Incident, Flo felt that the reward of sponges and gold was not enough. So as a tribute to Stereo for losing all his items and as a personal triumph, he decided to drain all the water out of the former Sea Temple and make it into a new base. It looks like an ordinary sea temple from the outside because there was never made any front door. On the inside, Flo hollowed out many of the interior structures that were once there and the rooms have a few small chests and workbenches inside.

Gold Farm (unfinished)

The original plan for this build was from the video 1.18 Gold Farm by DashPum4.[2] The author claims the farm yielded over 1,000 gold blocks per hour which would have made it the most productive farm on the server. Unfortunately it was also very ambitious, the project required a massive amount of resources and construction time. The scaffolding for the platforms that spawned the zombie pigman were all built, but after that it was not finished.

[1] These stunts were things like jumping off cliffs in dangerous areas then climbing back up, or fighting a pack of wolves while having a broken leg.

[2] It is unknown why he decided to build a gold farm. There was a small demand for gold in the economy and a surplus of it would not have been that useful.
