Stereo's Second Base

Stereo's second base was a stealth base and the former residence of SiliconAudit. After the secrecy of the base had been compromised, Stereo abandoned the base for a new one, whose whereabouts are still unknown. On January 16th, 2025, Stereo authorized the demolition of his second base through the use of TNT.

Development

Stereo began construction of his second base on June 20th, 2024 due to his first base becoming the subject of terrorist attacks. Stereo disclosed the coordinates of the base to no players except Mars, who was bound to keep the location confidential by admin-player privilege.

Stereo was aware of other players searching for his second base. To combat this, he conducted experiments to measure the effects of lighting when passing through various types of snow (powdered, layered, blocks). His goal was to finish the top of the base off with a layer of snow such that the base would be completely invisible to Elytra-patrolling scavengers, yet still passively illuminated on the inside by sunlight. The location of the base was chosen to be over 120,000 blocks away from world spawn to prevent it from being accidentally found.

Discovery

On December 28th, 2024, ROWNIE had pinpointed the exact location of Stereo's second base. In a testimony to mattt, ROWNIE explained that Stereo had requested ROWNIE to teleport to a location around 100,000 blocks away from world spawn about three months prior to the discovery date. In the past, Stereo had also unknowingly revealed the type of biome (snow) that his second base was located in^{[citation needed]}. Based on this information and the known world seed of the server, ROWNIE was able to narrow down the search area to a few biomes within close proximity of the location that Stereo had teleported ROWNIE to. Using an Elytra and the Nether roof to fast-travel, ROWNIE was able to arrive at Stereo's second base without having to teleport further. Since stereo never finished covering his base with snow, the top layer was fully exposed when ROWNIE found it.

Aftermath

Due to concerns over the secrecy of his base of operations, Stereo decided to abandon his second base and move forward with a new one. Nineteen days after the second base was found, Stereo had decided that he was ready to demolish it. With the assistance of Mars and overbooks, Stereo completely obliterated the base and its natural geography with large amounts of TNT.
