mattt Disc Farm Incident
On February 28th, 2023, mattt attempted to use the music disc farm that Mars made at his base. After several unsuccessful attempts, mattt destroyed the farm with TNT, shut down the server, and almost permanently deleted all server data.
Background
Mars constructed the music disc farm on November 11th, 2022 to expedite the goal of obtaining every vanilla music disc in the game. The farm works by having a Skeleton shoot an arrow through fire or flowing lava, which will then strike a block of TNT placed by the user. The TNT falls into a pit of Creepers in water, and upon the death of the Creepers, music discs will drop.
Incident
mattt joined the server in the afternoon of February 28th, 2023. He attempted to use the farm on his own for some time, but was killed by the Skeleton and took a break. Later, Mars and mattt joined the server, and mattt requested Mars to demonstrate the usage of the farm again. After watching the demonstration, mattt attempted to use the farm again, but only ended up getting shot by several arrows. This prompted him to kill the Skeleton.
mattt proceeded to place TNT around the farm and ignited it, causing the farm and the blocks around it to explode. Mars attempted to de-escalate the situation by taking mattt to the EITC Totem Farm, but to no avail.
Shortly after, mattt stated he would be deleting the world and stopped the server. In the group chat, Mars attempted to get Stereo to help him convince mattt against doing so. mattt stated that the server would be experiencing an undefined [sic] period of downtime, leaving the fate of the server in a state of mystery to the players.
Aftermath
On March 2nd, 2023, the server resumed its normal operations. Any damage that was done to the farm had been rolled back or otherwise repaired by mattt.
